In 2020 the Historical Society of the Northern Territory conceived a project to promote the teaching and understanding of Northern Territory history in Territory schools and community organisations.
Volunteers with expertise in aspects of Northern Territory history gave their time to prepare education material. This is available here as free digital download in five subject areas - Medicine, Darwin Rebellion, Communications and Technology, Aviation, and George Woodroffe Goyder. Additional chapters will be prepared in the future or on request.
By following the prompts, there is a simple process to obtain the Chapters and Teaching Aids chosen. Details of the purchaser are sought so the Society can assess the interest each Chapter creates. The purchase order will be followed by an email containing the download link.
The Historical Society of the Northern Territory acknowledges the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which History House stands, and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
