Medicine chapter

This is a wide ranging chapter on the various illnesses that settling the Northern Territory has introduced; influenza, malaria and venereal disease for example. Aboriginal people were particularly vulnerable to these introduced diseases. Leprosy is a particular focus of the chapter with a history of the hospitals and treatments that have largely eliminated this disease. Biographic details of some of the main medical men, (at that time they were always men) are also provided. Realistic images.
