This chapter comprises a series of education resources detailing the changes that communications and technology have brought to the Northern Territory. It focuses particularly on the Overland Telegraph Line and the history of this engineering feat. There are biographical details of some of the prominent people of the time. Also covered is the turbulence that accompanied the line and its operation; civil unrest in Darwin and violence between settlers and Aboriginal people.

Day trip to Bathurst Island (Warrumiyanga). The Tiwi remembers the 75th Anniversary of the bombing of Darwin. Events included the unveiling of statue of the Tiwi man who captured the first Japanese soldier on Australian soil.
