A collection of images and stories gathered by the Northern Territory Government remembering World War 11 and the bombing of Darwin. Stories involve Australian and American servicemen as well as Territory residents, including those of Aboriginal, Chinese, Filipino and Japanese descent, many of whom were evacuated.
The Historical Society of the Northern Territory acknowledges the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which History House stands, and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
