A detailed history of the NAR from its beginning to the gold fields of Pine Creek in 1889, to its extension and upgrading in WW11, its use for iron ore transport in the 1960s and its closure in 1976. There follows a series of student activities based on the NAR history.
The Historical Society of the Northern Territory acknowledges the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which History House stands, and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, sea, and community.
