Abiography of a Queenslander who joined the Royal Navy Air Service and, after training as a pilot, the Royal Air Force. He had extensive active service during WW1. As an inventor and mechanic he had numerous positions as pilot and test pilot around the world and finally achieved the first England to Australia flight. He died in a plane crash in Italy in 1933.
