A detailed biography that covers his move to South Australia, his rise in the civil service to Surveyor General and his successful Survey Expedition to the Northern Territory. He defined a line across South Australia beyond which agricultural leases should not be issued. He was also prominent in water and forest conservation.
The Historical Society of the Northern Territory acknowledges the Larrakia people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which History House stands, and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
